You will find here a varied (though very limited) selection of my artist books that I inventory as Copier Art. While 'serious' artists employ 'serious' techniques lithography, letterpress, etching I nevertheless chose the photocopier and the computer printer as my tools.
My choice was not only pragmatic, but appropriate. Even 'authentic'. Very much in keeping with the sleaze of my motifs. In the process of my working with the copier and computer printer such inelegant processes! I realized that while the method had its limitations, it also had rather unique virtues. My Copier Art books (I saw) were excellent!

OPUS A (2001, redone 2003) 5½" x 8½" - 24 pp. - price: $25
A set of my very earliest efforts at drawing figurative tableaus. These erotic vignettes were composed, not improvised as I had in the later decades trained myself to do. The motifs that predominate have to do with me visualizing tactile and torrid representations of the female anatomy. This was back in the era of VARGA girl pinups. I juxtapose with it another collection, that of my current 'photoshop' works, scavenging images I found on the internet, downloaded of jpegs I crop and tweak with my computer software. Many of the pages I consider as 'copier art,' color prints made from full color scans.

SPURTS (2001) 4½" x 5½" - 16 pp. - price: $20
Awaiting the technology and the affordability of technology (the scanning and then printing in full color) this book is comprised of a set of vintage comics I'd drawn extemporaneously with a pen and colored markers. It took some 25 years to realize. These homoerotic images, sheer fantasy, are of a bygone sensibility that today's viewers might find pleasurably naive and beguiling. Diminutive in size (as compared to the originals which were 8 1/2 X 11 inches), it has a crispness and clarity and excellent color resolution that makes this one of my favorites among my "copier art".
