gUY nORMAN books | About Guy & Norman The 'gUY & nORMAN' set of 2 books is a collaboration in making book art — the second time Guy Kettelhack and I have worked together (we did so first in 2002 when I curated a book art show for the Leslie-Lohman Gallery in Soho in which, along with numerous other book artists, Guy's work appeared). These are newly made books and the most recent I've released to book art distributors. More of this genre may be in the offing. BOOK ONE: Guy Kettelhack's Soho Poems & Drawings About Drawing by Norman Shapiro 5½" x 8½" - 42 pp. - price: $30 Poems, black & white line & color drawings, photo collages, clear plastic transparencies with line drawings (which superimpose on text). The 'gUY & nORMAN' books both include 'Soho Poems' and 'Drawings about Drawing' in their titles. For Guy it is a reference to his love of place in his poetry; for me it's a statement about what these specific drawings portend: they are "about" themselves. BOOK TWO: Soho Poems & Drawings About Drawing 5½" x 8½" - 42 pp. - price: $30 Poems, black & white line & color drawings, photo collages. In BOOK ONE there are transparencies of clear plastic with line drawings as 'overlays' that superimpose on the facing pages. In BOOK TWO are my permutations on the sort of things I did in the first book, distinctive in its containing full color Adobe-Photoshop-made collages rendered from found and donated photographs.
