|
The book titles here are among the earliest books made as 'multiples', all prior to the mid- and later 1990's. They are but a sampling of many books I've inventoried and categorized as 'chap books' and 'my porn as art'.
In requesting a Vintage Book, please allow me at least two weeks time should I need to make a new limited copier/computer printout edition. Be assured that the nice thing about new printings from the original copier masters is the opportunity it gives me to tinker. The new pots and pans cooking up this stuff are going to flavor the soup with fresh spices, consistencies, and aromas.

CHACREA (2002) A portfolio of Drawings From My Sketch Books 1987 - 1993 5½" x 8½" - 28 pp. - price: $25
My joy in the writing was in imagining a coherent space-time continuum (a world) that only I am able to fashion to my sexual fantasies. Works like 'Chacrea' which I'd made in abundance in the 1980s infer that the sexual transactions engaged in by the central characters not only shuffled men's hierarchical status but also physiologically altered them, changed their gender attributes. Chacrea is one of several such narratives in which I explored sex affecting self - identity, gender and one's status in the hierarchical social schema. It also averred my own disdain for what I saw as sadistic violence so prevalent in this literature at the time.

DARING DUREA (1985) 5½" x 8½" - 10 pp. - price: $50
'Daring Durea' was my very first endeavor at making book art. It is of an accordion folded construction. Like the funnies in a newspaper, each episode has the Daring Durea banner leading the reader into the strip that fills the width of the page. Like Spurts, it is silent. The blurbs imply words being exchanged, but it is the tableau that tells it, is the most eloquent about the outrage of impermissibility the artist is offering to our prurience. It was first printed in assorted single colors in letterpress by Dikko Faust at the Center For Book Arts back in the 1980's. Each cover is a one-of-a-kind collage in color.
